Charity non-profit organization «Light of Hope»

The Light of Hope is a charitable non-profit organization working to provide a range of social services and create conditions for the sustainable public health systems using best international practices.

It was established in 1999, when a few activists created the first self-care group for HIV-positive people in the city of Poltava and registered the Charitable Association of Care for HIV and AIDS patients named "Light of Hope". With time, both the range of services provided and the categories of beneficiaries of the organization grew in number.

The social supervision and care by the organization is provided to HIV-infected pregnant women and children, as well as to triple problem patients (IDU/PLHIV/TB), and since recently a number of services were launched for the prisoners with viral Hepatitis C.

In 2014, the Association changed its charter and began working under the name of the Light of Hope Charitable Organization. Currently, the organization acts as a resource center, provides expert support to other NGOs across Ukraine, cooperates with government institutions in order to improve the care infrastructure in Poltava region and bring it closer to the European level.
