East Ukrainian Center for the Development of Local Democracy
East Ukrainian Center for the Development of Local Democracy is a non-profit, apolitical organization founded by civic leaders and activists of Luhansk region who were forced to flee the occupied territories and unite for the sake of peace and development in the government-controlled parts of Luhansk region.
The organization actively works to promote democratic principles in eastern Ukraine, developing civic engagement and shaping a culture of citizen participation in decision-making processes at the local level.
The main forms of its work are to inform, promote, train, conduct research, and consulting.
The mission of the organization is to contribute to the democratic transformation of the region and the country as a whole. By supporting the development of democratic institutions, communities, independent media and integration processes at the local level, it is possible to achieve standards for the development of advanced societies and the prosperity of the community.
The non-profit engages diverse populations, including youth, women, veterans, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups. To achieve its goals, East Ukrainian Centre for the Development of Local Democracy conducts educational and training activities, develops and implements projects, as well as provides expert support to citizens and local authorities.
