The International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) is an international non-profit organization specializing in the international promotion of education and development. IREX works with partners in more than 100 countries in four areas essential to progress

IREX work includes reducing corruption, fighting disinformation, and building social trust.
IREX was established in 1968 by the American Council of Learned Societies, the Ford Foundation, the Social Science Research Council, and the U.S. Department of State. IREX conducted scholarly exchanges between the United States and the Soviet Union before the fall of the Iron Curtain. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, IREX implemented projects to support democratic reforms and strengthen organizations.
Its programs include academic exchanges, strengthening civil society in developing countries, expanding Internet access, and providing training and support to journalists and media outlets.
IREX develops and implements programs focused on civil society, education, gender equality, governance, leadership, media, technology and youth.
